Maple Leaf Lutheran Church has joined hands with Earth Ministry http://earthministry.org/ to connect Christian faith with care for the Earth.  Composed of over 1,400 individuals and congregations, together we believe the National Council of Churches' declaration that "addressing the degradation of this sacred Earth is the moral assignment of our time."

As a Greening Congregation, it is our mission to foster awareness of environmental issues as well as engaging members of our congregation in meaningful creation care activities in the larger community.

Garden for our SHARE homeless shelter PDF Print E-mail
Written by Julie Blum

We have been a host site for a SHARE homeless shelter since 1996. About 20 residents come in at 9:00 pm every night of the year. They sleep in the community hall of the church and then leave at 8:00 am. This is the first year that we planted a garden for the residents to harvest from. We are hoping in the future to make more raised beds and plant more produce. Here's some photos from the garden. Thanks to Elizabeth A for the photos.
