Artwork on the office lobby PDF Print E-mail

In an effort to support our community, we feature artwork of local artists in the office area of the church.  We invite a new artist to display his or her art every couple of months.  The community and neighborhood folks are always welcome to come by and enjoy it.  Here are some pictures of the artist and the art we have shown.  If you are an artist and would like to show your work please contact us.

ImageJennifer Carroll’s artwork has been seen across the country for many years, most recently in a one-person show at the Century Ballroom; an installation up on Broadway on Capital Hill; two Pigs for the Pike Market Foundation’s “Pigs on Parade;” and has been featured in the New York Times.  She describes her adventures with mirrors: “an artist friend of mine once told me that all of her work is self-portrait, which made me realize that all art is actually self-portrait, but being of a contrary nature I want to mess with that. Mirrors: they're all about you. If you can't see my mirrors, I can't see you.”

In addition to her visual art, Jennifer is a ballet teacher, choreographer and a puppeteer.  Any proceeds from the sale of her work this year will go toward her trip to Bangladesh in February, where she will be presenting her puppet show as part of a dental outreach program for children in remote villages.  For more information, visit her website at www.apogiatura.com
