Fox News Host Glenn Beck is famous for making outrageous statements. Recently, he urged his audience to leave their congregations if the church mentioned “social” or “economic justice.” FYI: Maple Leaf Lutheran Church mentions such words - and is proud to do so.
As the Bread for the World website says, "Jesus called us to care for “the least of these.” Social justice is central to the gospel. No matter where you fall on the political spectrum, it is impossible for biblically-literate people to deny the thousands of verses in the Bible about hunger and poverty."
